Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are there examples of HKSTP robotics technologies tested in real operations?

Yes. HKSTP’s past "Robots Everywhere" initiative demonstrated robotics validation in Science Park operations, and the AI & Robotics page links to public-service examples involving the FEHD and Housing Department. Read the linked cases for their specific settings and outcomes; contact HKSTP to ask about current collaboration routes.

2. What computing support can AI teams explore through HKSTP?

The AI & Robotics page links to HKSTP’s High-Performance Computing service, which is designed to give teams access to computing resources without building their own infrastructure. Review the service page for current capabilities, terms and a contact route; the right setup depends on the workload and project requirements.

3. How can a business explore robotics solutions for an operational need through HKSTP?

Start with the task and setting, such as cleaning or indoor operations. The AI & Robotics page features robotics examples in public-service settings, and HKSTP’s company directory helps readers explore Park companies. Review the relevant case and company information, then contact HKSTP or the provider to discuss whether a solution fits the site and whether a current trial route is available.

4. Where can a robotics team prototype or integrate a solution at HKSTP?

The Prototyping Lab describes fabrication resources for Park companies developing robotics prototypes. The Flexible Laboratory (FlexLab) supports robotics-related development, assembly, integration and validation toward pre-production. Review the two facility pages and enquire about current access, equipment and suitability for your project. These facilities serve different work stages from a live operational pilot.
