HKSTP and China Resources Group Join Forces to Nurture Innovation Talent "Beyond Dreams"

(Hong Kong, 15 July 2025) — Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), in collaboration with China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (China Resources Group), has launched the “Beyond Dreams” Student Internship Programme, offers local and international talent hands-on I&T experience at the Science Park, reinforce Hong Kong’s position as an international hub for high-calibre talents. The two organizations co-hosted “A Globe Party” where Mr. Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, and Mr. Qian Jian, Vice President of China Resources Enterprise, welcomed over 450 outstanding young talents from across the globe to join Hong Kong’s thriving innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem.
Mr. Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, emphasized that attracting global talent is a core strategy for HKSTP, as talent is key to driving international enterprises to Hong Kong, and the partnership with China Resources Group injects additional resources into Hong Kong’s talent pool, providing a comprehensive development platform for innovators worldwide. “This year, the Science Park received a record-breaking nearly 5,000 internship applications and selected over 450 students. As interns, you should strive to make an impact and pursue greater achievements.” HKSTP has actively engaged with international talent communities, visiting top academic institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Beijing to invite high-calibre talents to take part in Hong Kong’s I&T journey.
Ms. Fanny Wong, Chief Talent Officer of HKSTP, who spearheads the programme, stated that the “Beyond Dreams” initiative jointly launched by HKSTP and China Resources Group, aims to nurture young talent with practical work experience within I&T companies, as well as exposure through the Greater Bay Area visit, training workshops, and networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, encourage participants to pursue careers in I&T sector. “We hope interns gain workplace skills and global perspectives through the experience in the Science Park’s international talent community." Ms. Wong said. “We’re confident their creativity and passion will make them ambassadors of Hong Kong’s I&T sector, attracting more talent to seize the opportunities in Hong Kong”.
Several tech companies shared how the programme has successfully helped them attract top talent from leading global universities. MangDang Technology Co., Limited, an AI robotics startup, recruited interns from prestigious institutions in the US and the UK. CEO Mr. Afreez Gan said the programme infused the team with fresh perspectives and significantly enhanced product development efficiency. One of the interns, Shuhan Yang, a student from Mainland China currently studying at the University of Oxford, shared that the internship gave him a valuable opportunity to work on robotics development and gain hands-on experience. He expressed hope to return to Hong Kong to pursue his career after graduation.
Smart product development company PONG Product Design also welcomed an intern through the program: Mai Mahmoud Mostafa from Stanford University. Co-founder Louise Loong pointed out that Mai provides the team with unique insights into the US market and helps the team optimize strategies for expanding overseas business. Mai described her experience designing a mobile application during the internship as highly rewarding. She also praised Hong Kong’s international, inclusive work environment and said she is actively considering building her career in the city.
Singapore-based MedTech startup E3A Healthcare Pte Limited also participated in the programme and recruited interns from the University of Hong Kong and the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). Co-founder and CFO Mr. Harry Chen acknowledged the challenge of hiring top talent as a startup, and the intake of interns this time brings new sparks to the team and is a key step for the company’s globalization. Among the interns was Bosco Yeung, a Hong Kong native studying at UC Berkeley, who returned for a second internship with the Science Park. He expressed confidence in Hong Kong’s I&T future and said he hopes to apply his overseas experience to help local companies expand into the US market. He also referred fellow UC Berkeley student Josh Wong, who said that meeting with investors during the internship was a rare and valuable real-world experience. Another intern, Zhilin Mao from the University of Hong Kong, appreciates how startups are willing to entrust young talent with significant responsibilities, giving him more room to showcase his abilities.
