Vidi Labs is an early-stage AI startup that aims to revolutionise people’s daily interaction with their hardware and software. Our team aims to decentralise and streamline the user journey, so that they can be the best version of themselves with our intuitively designed products.
In hopes to create technology for marginalised people, we created a hardware product called Seekr, a compact wearable aimed at being a companion to the elderly and visually impaired population which provides real-time, intuitive services that helps them live their lives independently. We aim to make Seekr a personnel safety device for different populations in Hong Kong and beyond.
Running machine learning and AI algorithms, such as RNN and CNN model for computer vision, requires a GPU which is power consuming and bulky. For the technological innovation, Vidi Lab’s Seekr adopts edge AI technology that enables small form factors of wearable devices with machine learning capability. We have used our proprietary AI models and datasets to bring low latency machine learning feedback on resource-constrained embedded hardware ICs. Through this technology, we have made our first MVP where the user can just clip our smart wearable device onto their shirt, giving them real-time voice triggered response of their surroundings in an easy-to-understand format. Our visual companion device aims to improve the quality of life and personnel safety in Hong Kong and beyond.
