“Beyond Talent x Innovator” Connects Talent with Opportunity
(Hong Kong, 7 August 2026) — Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), in collaboration with China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (China Resources Group), jointly organised the “Beyond Dreams” Programme and hosted the “Beyond Talent x Innovator” Networking Event at Hong Kong Science Park on 31 July. The event brought together more than 250 young innovation and technology (I&T) interns from Hong Kong and overseas, together with start-ups from the park community and industry representatives. Through in-depth, face-to-face exchanges, the event gave participants valuable insights into HKSTP’s I&T ecosystem companies, broadened their professional networks, and supported them in taking an important step forward in their I&T journey in Hong Kong.
Mr Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, and Mr Qian Jian, Director of China Resources Enterprise, attended the event and encouraged young talent to realise their innovative potential and explore opportunities within the I&T ecosystem.
Mr Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, said: “HKSTP has long been committed to fostering a thriving I&T ecosystem, with young talent serving as a core driving force behind its development. We are delighted to be partner with China Resources Group for the third consecutive year to nurture more promising I&T talent through ‘Beyond Dreams’ Programme. The event theme, ‘Beyond Talent x Innovator’, reflects the synergy between talent and opportunity. We hope that, through exchange and the crosspollination of ideas, we can build bridges for young talents, inspire fresh thinking, and open the door to future opportunities.”
Mr Qian Jian, Director of China Resources Enterprise, said: "We are currently living in a golden era for innovation and technology development. With the HKSAR Government according to high priority to the I&T industry, an increasing number of enterprises and organizations are joining forces to enrich the I&T ecosystem, unlocking immense opportunities for the younger generation. Through our strategic partnership with HKSTP, we aim to inspire young talents to seize these golden opportunities and unleash their full innovative potential."
Integrating Three Strategic Pillars to Encourage Young People to Build Hong Kong’s I&T Future
Through the “Beyond Dreams” programme, HKSTP and China Resources are advancing three core programmes, namely the “Hong Kong Student Internship Programme”, the “China Resources x HKSTP Ideation Programme”, and “China Booster”. Together, these pillars provide comprehensive talent development, start-up support and market expansion channels, encouraging young people to pursue careers in I&T industry after graduation. The programme also supports their transition from interns to talents, contributing to Hong Kong’s development as an international hub for I&T talent.
To strengthen young talent’s overall competitiveness in a holistic way, the programme goes beyond internship placements by offering a range of diversified training workshops, company visits in the Greater Bay Area, and various networking and exchange activities. These opportunities enable participants to acquire cutting-edge technical knowledge and industry insights, accumulate hands-on experience, and gradually evolve from interns into I&T young professionals, sustaining their long-term development in Hong Kong's I&T ecosystem.
I&T Talent Share Internship Achievements as Global Perspectives Help Start-ups Connect with the Global Ecosystem
At the “Beyond Talent x Innovator” Networking Event, several interns from the Hong Kong Student Internship Programme, together with representatives of participating start-ups, shared their first-hand experiences. LeafIoT Technology Limited (LeafIoT), which develops a smart tree management system, recruited interns from leading universities around the world through the programme, bringing fresh momentum to the company’s overseas business development.
Mr Herman Chan, Managing Director of LeafIoT, said that international talent had helped the company overcome language and cultural barriers in overseas markets, enabling it to build partnerships with global clients more effectively. Vivienne Tsui, an intern from the National University of Singapore, earlier represented the company at VivaTech, the international I&T event held in Paris, France, where she successfully established connections with a number of international investors and facilitated collaboration opportunities.
Vivienne noted that the diverse practical experience offered through the programme had significantly enhanced her innovation, technology and commercial skills. She added that Hong Kong’s welldeveloped I&T ecosystem had further strengthened her confidence in returning to Hong Kong to pursue a career in the I&T sector in the future.
