The Rebar Tying Robot, independently developed by Castor Construction Robotics Limited, is designed for diverse planar rebar tying applications across multiple construction sectors It excels in housing projects, infrastructure development (including roads, bridges, and tunnels), commercial complexes, medical facilities, dam constructions, and industrial plants. With its autonomous recognition and positioning system, automatic obstacle avoidance capability, and intelligent track-changing function, the robot efficiently automates large-scale rebar tying operations in mesh central zones.

With a remarkable efficiency of 400-500 nodes per hour, the robot achieves 2-3 times the productivity of manual labour in a standard 8-hour shift. The system offers flexible remote operation through either a dedicated tablet or smartphone app, with an extended control range of up to 50 meters. Powered by advanced multi-sensor fusion technology, the robot maintains millimetre-level precision in all conditions - day or night, under scorching sun or heavy rainfall. Its exceptional environmental adaptability extends to material compatibility, including specialised applications with non-metallic reinforcements like fibreglass rebar mesh.

This rebar tying robot has won multiple awards, including the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council Innovation Award, the Gold Medal with the congratulations of the Jury (Highest Award) at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Award, and the Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Equipment and Machinery Design. It significantly promotes automation and intelligence in construction sites, alleviating labour shortages and reducing the high risks associated with manual rebar tying.
