Ms Cordelia Chung
Ms Chung is renowned for her extensive multinational corporate management and governance experience. She had an illustrious career at the International Business Machines China Hong Kong Limited (“IBM”), where she served for over 20 years holding key positions such as the Managing Director of IBM China/Hong Kong and the ASEAN region, as well as Vice President and General Counsel for Asia Pacific. She had also been posted to Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore, and was the first Asian female executive to serve on IBM Chairman and CEO's Global Strategy Council responsible for setting global directions for over 140 countries.
Ms Chung is currently independent non-executive director of several companies including Arup Group Limited, Hang Seng Bank Limited, HKBN Limited and Hysan Development Company Limited. She has been actively contributing to the development of Hong Kong’s higher education sector. She is the chairman of Maryknoll Convent School Foundation Limited and serves as a member of the Court of City University of Hong Kong and a non-official member of the HKSAR Government’s University Grants Committee and Life and Health Technology Research Institute Steering Committee.
Ms Chung has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for the newly established San Tin Technopole Company Limited, effective in July 2026. She is a two-time awardee of the Directors of the Year Award by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2022 and 2025 respectively. She was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2024 by the SAR Government for her contributions to the development of innovation & technology (I&T) in Hong Kong, as well as active participation in public service. Before her appointment as the chairman of HKSTP, she enjoys strong ties with HKSTP having served on its Board of Directors from 2017 to 2023 and being a board director of the HKSTP Foundation Limited, with deep understanding of HKSTP’s mission, operations and the I&T ecosystem to propel the I&T development in Hong Kong and reinforce the city's role as a bridge between the Chinese Mainland and the world by leveraging Hong Kong's international strengths.
