Riding on the success of the Pet-friendly Pilot Programme in 2022, HKSTP welcomes furry friends at Hong Kong Science Park. Pets are allowed to enter the outdoor areas of Science Park after 18:00 Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, Pets are allowed to enter other public areas including the outdoor areas, the ground floor and first floor of The Spine, the first floor of building 17W as well as, the ground floor, first floor and second floor of building 19W.

Science Park has launched a pilot programme for pet friendly park on coming Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Pets are allowed to enter the public areas of the Science Park including but not limited to the outdoor areas, the ground floor and first floor of The Spine, the first floor of building 17W as well as, the ground floor, first floor and second floor of building 19W.

Phase 1: from December 17, 2022 to January 29, 2023
Opening hours: All day Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

In public places of the Science Park, all dogs must be kept on leashes not longer than 1.5m in length, in pet strollers/bags, held in arms or properly taken good care of.

Medium and large dogs with a length ≥ 40cm or a weight ≥ 20kg should wear a muzzle.Pets other then dogs should be kept in pet strollers/bags, held in arms or properly taken good care of.

According to the Dangerous Dogs Regulation (Cap. 167D), "Known Dangerous Dogs" should not enter the Science Park.

Dog owners shall ensure at all times while at Science Park that their dog is under proper control and restrain from causing any nuisance or danger to others. Dog owners shall prevent their dog from making excessive noise at Science Park.

According to the "Food Business Regulations" (Chapter 10B), dogs are not allowed in restaurants or supermarkets (except guide dogs).

In addition, if a sign that pets are not allowed to enter is posted outside the shop, pets are not allowed to enter the shop.

No. According to the Tenant Handbook, no animals are allowed to enter office premises, unless there are a special reason and approval from the Facilities Management Office and HKSTP.

Please inform the Facilities Management Office for assistance. Facilities Management Office has the right to refuse pet owners and their pets to enter the office, or invite the pet owners and their pets to leave immediately.

Pets are only allowed to use the designated lifts to access the park’s public places*. Appropriate signage will be placed in the lifts.

To cooperate with the pilot programme of the pet-friendly park, the Facilities Management Office has arranged additional manpower and equipment to conduct patrol, cleaning and disinfection work based on the conditions to ensure the park’s environment is clean and hygienic.

It is recommended that individuals who are allergic to pet hair can consult with doctors for advice/suggestion.

Pet owners shall keep the Science Park area clean and hygienic at all times. The Facilities Management Office has prepared a Pet Visit Guides to remind pet owners to clean up any faeces or urine from their pet properly. Pet owners can contact the Facilities Management Office for any necessary assistance.

Then pet owners can notify staff members at the Customer Service Counter for assistance in disinfection.

Science Park has installed pet waste collection boxes both indoors and outdoors. The Facilities Management Office also provides loan services for pet strollers, pet bags, pet leashes, and pet sheets at the Customer Service Counter at building 1W, 8W, and 19W.

The Facilities Management Office has prepared a Pet Visit Guides to alert and remind pet owners to ensure that their pets are under proper control at all times, and to effectively prevent their pets from causing nuisance or danger to others.

If any visitors in the park are disturbed by pets, they can inform the Facilities Management Office for assistance, and Facilities Management Office will follow up according to the actual situation.

The Facilities Management Office has the right to refuse pet owners and their pets to enter Science Park, or invite the pet owners and their pets to leave Science Park immediately.

Furtopia

HKSTP is happy to launch "Furtopia", the first pet garden at Science Park. As the second phase of HKSTP's Pet-friendly Programme, Furtopia will turn Science Park into a truly pet-friendly destination and extend its "Work. Live. Play. Learn" culture from the Science Park community to their beloved families and furry friends, as well as the wider public across Hong Kong.
With an array of pet facilities for leisure and training, Furtopia will form an outdoor space for the innovation and technology (I&T) community and the public to spend a few “paw-fect” hours lounging and playing with their pampered pets.

Location: Between Building 12E and 16E
Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 12:00-21:00, Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday 10:00-21:00
