Recognised as one of the world’s outstanding neuroscientists, Dr. Wise Young established the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers University to bring effective treatments to people with spinal cord injuries. He was part of the team that discovered the first effective treatment for spinal cord injuries – a treatment that has shown significant positive results in human clinical trials, and is now being explored for trials around the world. Dedicated to helping improve patients’ quality of life, Dr. Young also established the biotechnology and translational medicine company Mononuclear Therapeutics Limited to develop treatments for devastating neurological conditions, including chronic spinal cord injury (SCI), chronic stroke and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Dr. Young holds the Richard H. Shindell Chair in Neuroscience at Rutgers University, USA.
