Kelsey Zhong recognises the health challenges that aged people in Hong Kong and Mainland face. In 2016, she co-founded ImmunoDiagnostics with her Ph.D. supervisor, and has since been focused on developing diagnostic panels for precision prediction and early detection of major chronic diseases, especially cardiometabolic diseases and immunological disorders. Their adiponectin ITA kit, in particular, can predict the risk of developing type 2 diabetes in 3-5 years, giving people the opportunity to completely reverse the progression of the disease through simple lifestyle and medical interventions. This kit offers those at risk an opportunity to delay or prevent the onset of this lifelong disease and its complications, contributing to the healthy population ageing in the community.
