Dr. Cathy Jim was part of the research team who successfully eliminated the need for filter replacements in air purifiers. By developing the Nano Confined Catalytic Oxidation (NCCO) technology, they were able to introduce a long-performing air treatment system that integrates both absorption and decomposition. This technology offers a more environment friendly alternative to traditional air purification technologies with activated carbon filters that lasts for only 2 to 3 months, ultimately reducing the solid wastes generated through filter replacement. Dr. Jim is a Chemistry graduate from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
