Mr. Chris So is Head of Business Development of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hong Kong, responsible for overall strategic planning, business development and operations in Hong Kong and Macau. Mr. So was one of the earliest employees to join AWS Hong Kong. Since taking this role in 2013, he has led the team to continuously increase investment in Hong Kong and establish cloud business from the ground up, including launching AWS Asia Pacific (Hong Kong) Region in 2019. Under Mr So’s leadership, AWS has set up a strong presence in Hong Kong and Macau, and has been collaborating with large enterprises, SMEs, public organisations and startups to help both global and local customers succeed in digital transformation and global expansion.

Bringing with him over 18 years of experience in the technology industry, Mr. So held regional managerial and advisory roles in a number of technology companies prior to joining AWS. Mr. So also voluntarily serves on a number of committees in relation to technology development including the Information Systems Departmental Advisory Committee (ISDAC) at the City University of Hong Kong, and the Corporate Innovation Index (CII) Committee at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr. So studied at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with an Executive MBA degree.
