HKSTP Thought-leadership Series: AI and Robotics for Garment Industry

Global garment production is facing labour shortage, rising demand for customisation and sustainability issues. To transform the garment industry and empower the manufacturers to address these challenges, AI and robotics-based solutions will be applied to upgrade the output of the garment sector, including enhanced sewing capabilities, fabric handling, and human-robot collaborations. In this symposium, Centre for Transformative Garment Production (TransGP) researchers from the University of Hong Kong and Tohoku University will share their insights as to how AI and robotics can advance the course of intelligent automation for garment production processes.
