(Hong Kong, 31 March 2022) Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) has opened its third intake for the Technology Leaders of Tomorrow (TLT) programme, tailor-made for bright young minds who aspire to become future I&T leaders in Hong Kong. Continuing HKSTP’s first-ever T2: Innovation Tech x Talent Month that has seen record demand for tech talent, the TLT 2022 programme aims to groom the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs to meet the surging growth in career opportunities particularly at the leadership level.

Under the theme “Different Altogether”, the brightest young local and global minds can now apply to join TLT, the HKSTP InnoAcademy signature scheme. Applicants will combine continuous training with innovation and leadership skills development and take on full-time R&D roles with leading HKSTP partner companies or industry partners outside Science Park. Launched in 2020, the TLT programme is entering its third year with a total of 20 young graduate leaders completing the previous two rounds. This year, the programme will offer a choice of over 30 work opportunities across areas of AI & robotics, software engineering, biomedical technology and more.

Jenzen Fung, TLT 2021 graduate, said: “TLT programme is unique with lots of on-the-job training opportunities. The sharing and mentoring during the executive shadowing have taught me a lot about leadership skills. Being a founding member of the InnoAcademy Society, I also gained valuable experience connecting with like-minded peers and industry leaders.”

Mia Liu, who is also from TLT 2021 class, said: “I really appreciated the exclusive dialogues with technology leaders which provided insight into the global mindset and culture required to lead and drive successful innovation initiatives. Their inspiration helped me map out my future career path and guide me to becoming a future tech leader in the long run.”

Successful applicants that take up a graduate R&D role at partner companies gain exclusive access to the Science Park’s I&T ecosystem. The programme starts with a 6-week internship and 2-week innovation project training at HKSTP and then a full-time R&D role at one of the participating partner companies. The training and placement will see graduates emerge with deep leadership skills and expertise in areas such as AI & robotics, biomedical technology, data and smart city technologies, fintech and more.

Highlights of the TLT 2022 programme:

  • A R&D role customised to I&T career aspirations
  • Attractive monthly salary: HKD 25K+/30K+/45K+ (Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D.)
  • Intensive leadership training, innovation projects and executive shadowing
  • Becoming part of Hong Kong InnoAcademy Society with access to unicorn founders and technology leaders, priority in joining GBA InnoAcademy programmes and career development and networking opportunities
  • Non-local talents will get 3-month free accommodation at InnoCell to experience the unique “Work. Live. Play. Learn.” culture of Hong Kong's I&T ecosystem

Participating companies are selected based on a collection of criteria including promising company growth prospects, R&D support, quality of training and substantial I&T activities in Hong Kong. University graduates who studied STEM-related subjects with less than 3 years of full-time work experience are eligible to apply.
