Appointments to Board of Directors of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) welcomes HKSAR Government’s announcement on the new appointments to Board of Directors today.

We are thankful for the invaluable contribution of our Chairperson Mrs Fanny Law during the past four years. Mrs Law played a pivotal role in driving the transformation journey of HKSTP. During her tenure, she took the lead in accelerating progress in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, robotics and smart cities developments, which laid a robust foundation for the future development of the HKSTP in Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ecosystem.

HKSTP also welcomes the appointment of Dr Sunny Chai as Chairman of Board of Directors. Dr Chai is a serving member of HKSTP’s Board of Directors. He is also a well-respected industrialist with deep experience in public service. Under Dr Chai’s leadership, together with eight newly appointed members including Mr Herbert Chia, Mr Donald Choi, Mr Dennis Ho, Professor Mak Tak-wah, the Hon Jimmy Ng, Mr Gavin Poon, Professor Sean Tang and Mr Denis Tse, and three re-appointed members namely Mr Theodore Ma, Mr Joseph Ngai and Professor Tsui Lap-chee, the Board of Directors will bring new impetus to the future growth of the Corporation and the innovation and technology development in Hong Kong.

We are grateful to our four board members - Dr Lo Wai-kwok, Professor Shyy Wei, Mr Richard Sun and Mr Billy Wong, whose tenure will expire at the end of this month, for their valuable guidance to the work of HKSTP.

HKSTP serves as a leading incubator and a super-connector to support innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. With strong and diverse expertise from technology and professional areas, HKSTP’s Board of Directors and Management Team will continue to drive the betterment of the local innovation and technology ecosystem and play its part in Hong Kong’s drive towards becoming a global leading innovation hub.
