HKSTP Chief Executive Officer Albert Wong appointed as Council Member of CUHK

(Hong Kong, 15 December 2023) – Mr Albert Wong, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), has been appointed as a member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Council. The appointment, made by the CUHK Council, is effective from 14 December 2023 for a term of three years.

Mr Wong said, "I am deeply honoured to be appointed as a member of the CUHK Council. As a comprehensive research university, CUHK has, over the past 60 years, nurtured a wealth of exceptional talents. It is home to a distinguished body of academics and researchers, achieving a status  of global leadership across a variety of research areas. Technological innovation is a cornerstone of societal progress. I am keen to collaborate with the other members of the Council in fostering the long-term development of CUHK, assisting in the fulfilment to build Hong Kong as an international education as well as innovation and technology (I&T) hub."

HKSTP has built a thriving I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong, actively engaging in collaborations with stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and research sectors to strategically shape the future of Hong Kong. We maintain strong links with local universities, offering a variety of programmes and activities to jointly nurture I&T talent. In addition, we are dedicated to help universities commercialise their research and development (R&D) findings, taking full advantage of Hong Kong's strengths in R&D, innofacturing, and financing. The Hong Kong SAR Government's major I&T initiative, InnoHK, has established innovation and research clusters within Hong Kong Science Park, uniting premier local and international tertiary institutions and research institutes. By utilising our comprehensive range of value-added services from research to commercialisation, we strive to create impacts by turning research discoveries into tangible benefits for all.
