A LIVING LABORATORY
Hong Kong Science Park is a living laboratory where innovative technologies are tested and applied, and valuable data and feedback are collected to enable future innovation. It is also piloted as a smart region to further Hong Kong’s Smart City vision.
5 CLUSTERS AND 3 PLATFORMS
We leverage Hong Kong’s strengths in 5 technology clusters – Biomedical Technology, Electronics, Green Technology, Information and Communications Technology, Material and Precision Engineering, and facilitate the translation of R&D achievements into practical solutions for 3 major application platforms, namely Smart City, Healthy Ageing and Robotics.
SMART REGION, SMART CITY
In collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, we set up the smart region which is a “living lab” for piloting innovative solutions using technologies from the incubatees and partner companies in Science Park.
ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY
We engage the community to communicate the economic significance of innovation and technology and the possibilities they bring. We also support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and strive to build the city's STEM talent pool.
In HKSTP, we live and practise innovation and technology. We embrace people who have the courage to disrupt and cherish those who have the will to persevere.
Vibrant Science Academy and Science Explorer are designed to instil interest in STEM subjects for young people through hands-on experience such as workshops and experiments.
Marvoto, which is among the first to move into HKSTP’s purpose-designed biomedical R&D facility, Healthcare Devices Innovation Hub, has created a handy 3D ultra-sound camera that uses smart algorithm and artificial intelligence to let expecting moms take pictures or videos of the baby in the womb and monitor foetal health. The device can also be widely applied for health monitoring at home, making it much simpler to keep track of health issues and identify problems early on to seek timely treatments. This is certainly in line with Marvoto’s goal of contributing to building a healthier world.
