AusMed Global and China Resources Guangdong Pharmaceutical Sign Strategic Agreement to Accelerate Medical Innovation in the Greater Bay Area
(Hong Kong, 15 October 2025) – AusMed Global Limited (AusMed) and China Resources Guangdong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (CR GD Pharm) held a strategic cooperation framework agreement signing ceremony at the Hong Kong Science Park. The partnership aims to promote the application of innovative medical technologies in mainland China and advance the high-quality development of the healthcare industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event was witnessed by:
- Mr. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)
- Mr. Eric Or, Acting Chief Corporate Development Officer of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP)
- Dr. Christine Yip, CEO and Founder of AusMed Global Limited
- Ms. Peiqiong Huo, General Manager of China Resources Guangdong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (South China Region)
Mr. Or remarked that since HKSTP began collaborating CR GD Pharm in 2024, the partnership has continuously uncovered the innovation potential of the biotech industry in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The successful matching between AusMed and CR GD Pharm is now elevated to a strategic level, showcasing the powerful synergy of combining their strengths.
Ms. Huo highly recognized AusMed’s strong capabilities and immense potential in medical innovation. She emphasized that CR GD Pharm, leveraging national strategies and years of experience in import-export trade, actively supports the implementation of the “Hong Kong-Macao Medicine and Device Connect” policy. By introducing innovative drugs and devices already approved in Hong Kong and Macao but not yet registered in mainland China, the company aims to promote regional integration and enhance the internationalization of healthcare services.
Dr. Yip highlighted AusMed’s excellence in non-invasive product development and clinical applications. She introduced KetoMetrics® system, the world’s first real-time breath ketone detection system for point-of-care with laboratory-grade accuracy. Its applications span diabetes management, cardiovascular health, chronic diseases in the elderly, and ketosis monitoring. She expressed hope that the partnership would accelerate the system’s adoption in mainland China.
Mr. Lau noted that both companies have actively participated in HKTDC-hosted events such as the Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH), the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair, and roundtable discussions aimed at facilitating investment and financing connections. This strategic collaboration combines AusMed’s research innovation with CR GD Pharm’s market strength, creating a “research + industry” synergy that benefits patients and the public. The partnership reflects the fruitful outcomes of ongoing exchanges and Hong Kong’s recent efforts to promote medical innovation and cross-sector collaboration.
This strategic agreement marks a solid step forward in bringing innovative medical technologies to market and serving public health. Looking ahead, the two companies will work together to seize development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, provide high-quality products and services to Chinese patients, and jointly explore the Belt and Road health market.
