HKSTP remains committed to driving the "from Research to Innofacturing " value chain in alignment with the Government’s policy direction on promoting new industrialisation. We will continue to make effective use of resources and take a proactive approach to future planning in order to inject new momentum into Hong Kong’s economic growth.
HKSTP will further explore and finalise specific development plans. The shared goal is to build a thriving microelectronics ecosystem within Yuen Long InnoPark.
Dr Sunny Chai, Chairman of the HKSTP, said, "We are greatly encouraged by the Government's continued commitment to allocating resources in support of the innovation and technology (I&T) sector. In recent years, HKSTP repositioned the industrial estates in Yuen Long, Tai Po and Tseung Kwan O as InnoParks. This strategic move aims to attract enterprises engaged in high value-added, high technology content and advanced manufacturing, enabling Hong Kong to seize global trends in key technology development and to promote new industrialisation. The newly allocated land for I&T use in Yuen Long will facilitate the transition of research outcomes to the next stage, accelerating local manufacturing and commercialisation. We will continue to make the best use of available resources and expedite the formulation of concrete development plans for the site. Through ongoing innovation and progress, we aim to support Hong Kong’s transformation into a global hub for talent and I&T."
