(Hong Kong, 6 October 2017) - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (“HKSTP”) today announces the incorporation of its wholly-owned subsidiary company, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“HK-SZ I&T Ltd”). Pursuant to the “Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Developing the Lok Ma Chau Loop by Hong Kong and Shenzhen”, the new company is designated to take charge of the construction, operations, maintenance and management of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park.
HKSTP Chief Executive Officer Albert Wong said, “It is extremely encouraging to see the establishment of the Park which is going to have a profound impact on fostering the development of the innovation and technology ecosystem. We have undertaken extensive groundwork on setting up the subsidiary company, including identifying the right candidates to form a dedicated professional team, defining the positioning and operational model of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park. The new Park will be about four times the current size of Hong Kong Science Park. We envision that I&T professionals and research institutions from around the world will converge at the new Park for more vigorous exchange of knowledge and ideas and collaborate closely with Hong Kong and Shenzhen enterprises to capitalize on enormous opportunities in the Mainland and global market.”
Appointed by the HKSTP, the Board of Directors of HK-SZ I&T Ltd comprises 10 members with diverse background and extensive experience in academia, public services or business sector.
