(Hong Kong, 2 September 2026) — Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) has successfully concluded the fifth cohort of the “Innopreneur Experience Journey” with a closing ceremony at Hong Kong Science Park earlier.
Over the course of six weeks, the programme brought 59 senior secondary students from 28 local schools into 22 innovation and technology (I&T) and industrial enterprises, offering them first-hand exposure to cutting-edge research, corporate decision-making and product operations, while exploring the diverse career opportunities arising from Hong Kong’s drive towards new industrialisation.
The closing ceremony brought together the Hon Ray Wong Wing-wai, MH, Legislative Council Member, Industrial (First); Mr Ashley LEUNG Pak-wai, Principal Assistant Secretary (School Governance and Efficiency) of the Education Bureau; Ms Fanny Wong, Chief Talent Officer of HKSTP; Mr Anthony Lam, Chairman of FHKI; along with representatives from participating enterprises and students, to celebrate the programme’s success.
Bringing “AI+” from the laboratory into everyday life
With “AI+” as its central theme, this year’s programme gave students an opportunity to experience the practical applications of artificial intelligence across industries. A key highlight of the programme was a visit to Science Park-based AI unicorn SenseTime, where students engaged with a series of interactive exhibits and immersive experiences showcasing real-world applications of frontier technologies such as generative AI and smart city solutions. The experience enabled students to learn how AI evolves from algorithms and research breakthroughs into practical solutions for industry and everyday life, driving transformation across different sectors.
The programme also included a three-day “Executive Shadowing” placement, in which students worked alongside corporate executives, researchers and professional teams to gain in-depth insights into corporate decision-making, product development, and operational processes. The experience provided a deeper understanding of the knowledge, skills and capabilities required to pursue careers in I&T and emerging industries.

Generously sponsored for the fifth consecutive year by Sino Group and the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation. The programme also received valuable support from several partners, including the Child Development Initiative Alliance, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Tsuen Wan Centre, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, and the Po Leung Kuk Life Planning and Financial Education Centre.
To encourage students to translate their six-week experience into concrete ideas, this year’s programme continued to feature the “Star Student Award”. Shortlisted students delivered presentations during the closing ceremony, sharing their observations and key takeaways from the three-day Executive Shadowing placement. A panel of judges awarded prizes valued at more than HK$12,000 in total, recognising the innovative potential of these young talents and their contributions to the future of the industry.
