HKSTP to Lead Hong Kong Innovators Go Global via VivaTech Paris and BIO San Diego 

(Hong Kong/Paris/San Diego, 11 June 2026) — Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) will be leading two major overseas delegations in June—VivaTech 2026 in Paris, Europe’s leading startup showcase, and BIO International Convention (BIO) 2026 in San Diego, the world’s largest life and health technology event. The twin missions put Hong Kong innovation on a global stage at an unprecedented scale to open new paths for collaboration, investment and two-way market access for tech ventures from Hong Kong, as well as for European and US innovators seeking opportunities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and across Asia.

“June marks a landmark moment in HKSTP’s mission to rally a global tech community to reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a launchpad to success, also to promote the vibrancy and sustainability of our innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem,” said Terry Wong, CEO, HKSTP. “Our priorities lie with AI and biotech, both fields speak unmeasurable value and impact that would set us apart in this digital age, and of course, are core to connecting innovation ecosystems of the US, Europe and the Chinese Mainland as an international I&T hub.” 

VivaTech 2026: A Decade of Innovation

As VivaTech celebrates its 10th year serving as a beacon to startups looking to enter Europe, HKSTP returns as a premier I&T ecosystem orchestrator, from 17 to 20 June, supporting the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in organising the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion showcases innovative solutions of 24 Hong Kong tech ventures, among which 16 are incubated by HKSTP, spans AI, green- and health tech, to connect with the local I&T community, the European market, and global innovators through matching sessions, mixers, and more. Notable tech ventures include:

• Formwork IO — A ClimateTech materials company that transforms upcycled industrial by-products and wellness-focused bio-pigments, into building materials that actively sequester atmospheric CO2, uniting carbon leadership, circularity, and human wellness in a single material innovation, has made Top 30 of the Tech For Change Awards by VivaTech. 
• LeafIoT — A pioneer in green asset management introducing a groundbreaking East-meets-West smart tree management system, translating the traditional Eastern diagnostics into modern AI technology to significantly extend the lifespan of trees and restore natural ecological balance in an urban setting, empowering governments and enterprises to achieve green and low-carbon goals securely.
• Pantheon Lab — A leading GenAI company providing advanced Agentic AI and digital human interface solutions span banking, public services, government agencies, and large enterprises. 

BIO 2026: The largest-ever Hong Kong Biotech Debut

Showcasing growing global biotech momentum, HKSTP will organize the largest-ever Hong Kong Pavilion at BIO 2026 from 22 – 25 June, featuring double the number of participating organizations and exhibition area size compared to last year. Joining forces with InvestHK as the co-organiser, HKTDC as the supporting organisation, and five renowned local universities - The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - the record-breaking delegation will showcase life and health innovation from 41 tech firms, institutes, and university spin-offs from Hong Kong. The innovation spans AI-enabled biotech, therapeutics, diagnostics, and pharma innovation, with potential outstanding "First-in-Class" and "Best-in-Class" assets. 

Beyond the BIO 2026 Hong Kong Pavilion, HKSTP CEO Mr Terry Wong will attend the "Translating Innovation Across Borders: Creating Global Gateways for Biotech Startups" panel sharing session. This panel session will explore how structured programmes can create intentional pathways for international startups to integrate into leading biotech ecosystems. Mr. Wong will share his insights on cutting-edge biotech trends, Hong Kong’s strengths on life and health tech development, and HKSTP’s orchestrating role of building global bridge for nurturing global startup expansion, sustainable innovation and collaboration.

Furthermore, HKSTP will host a Global Mixer, curated pitching sessions, executive sharing and targeted networking events to open doors for commercialisation, licensing, partnerships, investment and international expansion. 

Featured Hong Kong startups at BIO 2026:

• GenEditBio — Specializes in developing in vivo genome editing therapies (also known as "DNA surgery") by discovering novel Cas nucleases and creating fundamentally safe, efficient and affordable in vivo delivery technologies to treat genetic mutation-related diseases.
• Immuno Cure — Focusing on DNA medicines and antibody immunotherapies for infectious diseases, inflammation, and cancers. First-in-class HIV therapeutic DNA vaccine, ICVAX, completed Phase I clinical trial with promising results, and soon enters Phase II clinical trial. Pipeline products also include DNA vaccines and antibody against various cancers are underway in preclinical stage.

Through these missions, HKSTP is not only taking home grown innovators overseas, but also attracting partners, capital, talent and collaboration into Hong Kong. The goal is clear: position Hong Kong as a super connector for local startups to access the vast opportunities in markets across the world, vice versa, and to accentuate that momentum into a model of influence.
