Product

Robozyme has developed a proprietary platform that allows for the facile immobilization of multiple enzyme catalysts that allows for their use in batch and fixed-bed continuous flow reactors. Specific immobilized enzymes that are available include lipases, NADH-dependent enzymes, decarboxylases, and racemases.

Technology

We have developed a simple, robust, and economical platform for the one-step production of immobilized enzymes from bacteria. Our technology is based on the crystal forming proteins that naturally self assemble into crystalline inclusions in bacteria, and is distinctively different from most traditional methods in which expression, purification and immobilization are performed separately. Here, the multiple steps are consolidated into a single step, thereby eliminating the need of columns for enzyme purification and reagents to introduce reactive chemistries, resulting in tremendous savings in time and cost. Notably, we have expanded our immobilization toolkit to the co-immobilization of multiple enzymes which greatly enhanced the general applicability of our immobilization technology. The modular framework developed for the generation of multienzyme catalyst enables us to efficiently produce selected enzyme cascades easily, cheaply, and efficiently.
