Description
CoolStar Innovation Technology Limited (abbreviated as CoolStar), incubated by the HKUST research team, has developed a series of high performance Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) and a zero-carbon, energy-saving and environmentally friendly solid-state elasto-caloric refrigeration technology based on SMAs, which has the advantages of 50% energy saving compared to the current vapour compression refrigeration technology, no GHG emission, 100% recyclability of the SMAs, safe and quiet. This cutting-edge refrigeration technology can be widely applied to home refrigeration appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators), cold chain refrigeration systems, thermal management systems of electric vehicles and lithium batteries, cooling systems for data centres, and commercial HVAC. CoolStar is pushing forward to reshape the refrigeration industry, making significant contributions to a greener and more sustainable future.
