Bacbudy is a lightweight, intelligent soft robotic exosuit designed to protect and support the user's lower back during everyday tasks. Weighing only 1.5 kg and crafted from soft, breathable fabrics and silicone, Bacbudy is engineered to be worn discreetly under or over clothing, integrating seamlessly into a daily work uniform or personal attire without hindering mobility. Unlike traditional rigid and cumbersome exoskeletons, it replaces heavy motors and metal frames with lightweight, fabric-based pneumatic soft actuators (each under 100 grams) that pressurize to offload strain from the lower back muscles during lifting, bending, or prolonged stooping, then depressurize to allow complete freedom of movement. At its core, Bacbudy is powered by our proprietary "Embodied AI" control system, in which a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) processes real-time data from a 9-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to understand the user's posture and movement intent, delivering intelligent, adaptive support precisely when it is needed. Through continuous learning, the suit adapts to each individual's unique biomechanics, becoming more personalized and effective over time.
