Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Congratulates Science Park Companies for their Recent Achievements

13 Nov 2014

(Hong Kong, 13 November 2014) Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (“HKSTP”) is pleased to announce that one member under its Leading Enterprises Acceleration Programme (“LEAP”) and two under its Incubation Programmes recently received significant recognitions in regional and global competitions.

AdvanPro Limited – member of LEAP, a programme to nurture and transform current and graduated members of HKSTP’s Incubation Programmes to regional or global companies through a range of in-depth and professional support – is a winner of Excellence Prize in ASPA Awards 2014. Every year, Asian Science Park Association (“ASPA”) awards promising enterprises with great management skills and excellent technological innovations. The Award aims to inspire more SMEs to pursue strategic and highly-specialised managements; to disseminate their useful ideas and know-how with the managers and experts of Asian Science and Technology Parks. AdvanPro Limited has been recognised due to its achievement in coming up with the world’s leading proprietary sensing technology SOFTCEPTOR™, and its dedication to accelerate the market growth of wearable electronics applications.

In another competition, EGI Technologies and Consulting Ltd and Novus Life Sciences Limited, both incubatees of HKSTPC, are selected as finalists of 2014 GEW 50 among over 600 start-ups from 38 countries. Each year, Global Entrepreneurship Week recognises the most promising new start-ups from around the world through its Startup Open competition. A panel of judges identifies “GEW 50” start-ups as finalists and one grand prize winner will be announced during Global Entrepreneurship Week. EGI Technologies and Consulting Ltd and Novus Life Sciences Limited are the only two finalists coming from Hong Kong.

EGI Technologies and Consulting Limited entered the competition with Collabris, its cloud and mobile technology for team collaboration. Using a publish-and-subscribe technology and a patented object modelling and data unification technology, it unifies multiple types of conversations onto a common platform which facilitates team work and ideas flow and develop as a continuous stream of efforts.

Novus Life Sciences Limited focuses on the development of orthobiologics and aims to fill a market gap with its technology by providing highly injectable biomaterial needed for minimal invasive surgical procedures, leaving no trace with minimal complexity in operation and patient downtime. Novus Life Sciences Limited is dedicated to accelerating the commercialisation process and putting cutting-edge technology into application.

Mr Allen Ma, Chief Executive Officer of HKSTP, extended congratulations to the three companies for their excellent achievements and praised them for their remarkable contribution to the technology industry, “HKSTP is a keen promoter of the local innovation and technology development. We have nurtured more than 450 start-ups through our Incubation Programmes over the years. It is encouraging to see our incubatees shine in both local and global arena.
