Leveraging Cloud-Based AI Learning Tool to Jointly Foster Digital Talent
(Hong Kong, 30 November 2023) Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) announced the official launch of "HKSTP x AWS DeepRacer". This initiative incorporates a racing competition as a learning infrastructure within Science Park. The competition is designed to fuel the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), cultivate an innovation and creative culture, and bolster the Innovation and Technology (I&T) ecosystem in Hong Kong.
Alongside the launch ceremony, "HKSTP x AWS DeepRacer" will host seasonal competitions, with registration currently underway. The inaugural competition is scheduled for 19 January 2024. The event encourages participation from individuals across all backgrounds, irrespective of their proficiency in Information Technology. To prepare participants, HKSTP and AWS will facilitate workshops and training sessions to equip teams with foundational ML knowledge that will also serve to enhance the effectiveness of reinforcement learning (RL) for the racing competitions.
HKSTP is committed to bolstering the I&T ecosystem, championing competitive and strategically significant tech sectors in Hong Kong, including AI and data science. This aligns with the vision set out in Hong Kong's I&T Development Blueprint, thereby infusing new vitality into the local economy and reinforcing Hong Kong's status as an international I&T hub.
