HKSTP rallies the I&T community and all citizens to engage in the Legislative Council General Election - Uniting I&T power to drive citywide voting
(Hong Kong, 5 December 2025) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is demonstrating full commitment through action to support the General Election of the 8th Legislative Council on 7 December. Initiatives include opening the Science Park as a polling station, conducting outreach visits to communities and park companies, and establishing street counters to distribute leaflets to encourage voting. Dining vouchers will be provided to all voters who have casted their votes to foster enthusiastic citywide participation in building Hong Kong’s future.
Last month earlier, Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, was joined by Mr Kevin Choi, Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Ms Lillian Cheong, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Mr Ivan Lee, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology; Dr Ming Ge, Commissioner for Industry (Innovation and Technology); and Dr Marcus Liu, Political Assistant to Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, guided by Dr Sunny Chai, Chairman of HKSTP, and Mr Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, visited HKSTP’s I&T hub, the InnoCentre. During the tour, the delegation engaged with multiple Innovation and Technology (I&T) enterprises and R&D professionals to personally deliver election messages. The visit aimed to encourage enterprises and their employees to actively participate in the upcoming Legislative Council General Election, encouraging them to vote on 7 December.
Dr Sunny Chai, Chairman of HKSTP, stated that at this critical juncture, a stable Legislative Council that serves the overall interests of Hong Kong is of paramount importance. He emphasised that the Legislative Council is an integral part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s political structure. Key policies and funding allocations require its approval before implementation. He urged the I&T community to vote on the day of the Legislative Council General Election.
"Every vote counts. Voting is not only a fundamental civic right, but also a vital responsibility for all of us in building a better future for Hong Kong. HKSTP has always stood side by side with the I&T sector, consolidating the strength of I&T through our ecosystem of over 2,400 companies and nearly 26,000 population in the I&T community. We need Legislative Council members who can articulate the industry's perspectives to the government, offering insights and recommendations to the government to drive I&T development."
As a key driver of Hong Kong’s, I&T ecosystem, HKSTP maintains close government collaboration while actively advocating for growth-oriented policies and resource allocation. HKSTP will continue engaging stakeholders across sectors to collectively elevate Hong Kong's I&T competitiveness.
HKSTP also encourages all voters, particularly those in the I&T community, to elect service-driven, visionary, and execution-focused Legislative Council members, injecting innovative momentum into Hong Kong's long-term development.

Present a completed "thank you card" at the concierge counters of Buildings 1W, 10W, or 19W within Hong Kong Science Park to redeem a HK$30 voucher. Vouchers are valid at designated park eateries with minimum HK$250 purchase. To support employees fulfilling their civic responsibilities, HKSTP is offering staff a half-day appreciation leave.
