HKSTP Welcomes Government’s Pak Shek Kok Station Development Project
(Hong Kong, 9 July 2026) – The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) welcomes the Government’s announcement on the Pak Shek Kok (PSK) Station development project and anticipates that the PSK Station will be commissioned in 2033 or earlier. Since the proposal to build the PSK Railway Station was first announced in the “2021 Policy Address”, HKSTP has been actively supporting the related planning. We look forward to the early completion and commissioning of the PSK Station. The new station will significantly improve infrastructure support for the Hong Kong Science Park, facilitate the commuting convenience of innovation and technology (I&T) talent, enrich the I&T vibrancy of the district, and foster synergies with other I&T clusters to further strengthen the Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem.
Mr Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, said, “The Science Park and the I&T community are key stakeholders in PSK. Over the years, HKSTP has been committed to building a vibrant I&T ecosystem with an approximately 20,000 working population. We firmly believe that the construction of the PSK Station will serve as a major milestone in driving high-quality development of the entire district. The new station will not only provide an efficient and convenient transport network for enterprises and talent currently in the Park, but will also promote collaboration and interaction among the Science Park’s I&T community as well as with nearby universities, research institutions and other stakeholders. This will propel the long-term development of the Science Park while providing a solid foundation for the sustained growth of Hong Kong’s I&T industry.”
The proposed PSK Station is strategically located. As an important node on the East Rail Line, the new station will connect southward to core business districts such as Admiralty and Wan Chai, and northward to the Northern Metropolis. Together with the under-construction Northern Link, it will closely integrate the Science Park at PSK with the San Tin Technopole in the Northern Metropolis and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park in the Loop Area. This will build a highly efficient corridor that facilitates I&T talent mobility and technology exchange, further strengthening the synergy across the city’s I&T industrial chain.
As Hong Kong’s I&T flagship, the Science Park frequently hosts a wide range of I&T exchange activities. This will be further enhanced by the Government’s proposed barrier-free covered elevated footbridge connecting the PSK Station with the Science Park, which will significantly shorten travel time for stakeholders and the public alike.
HKSTP is actively planning to build InnoCell 2.0 as part of its efforts to fully support the long-term development of I&T. The new station will substantially upgrade the transport network and living amenities of the Science Park, attract top I&T talent from Hong Kong and overseas to develop here, and effectively accelerate people flow, logistics and other interactions within the I&T ecosystem. This holds profound strategic significance for Hong Kong’s vision of becoming an international I&T centre.
