(Hong Kong, 22 September 2026) — The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) recently hosted its inaugural Co-Development & Investment Conference, connecting tech ventures, investors, and industry partners to form a robust “Tripartite Alliance.” Spanning across Hong Kong, Dongguan, and Hangzhou, the event promoted the interconnectivity of the I&T ecosystems and industrial resources between Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta, driving Hong Kong’s I&T development while reinforcing HKSTP’s international impact.
The six-day conference covered a wide range of topics, including global deep tech investment trends, strategies for technology companies going global and industry application scenarios. It focused on four major areas: AI & Data Science, Electronics & Robotics, Life & Health Technology, and Sustainable Materials & Technology. The first two days took place at Hong Kong Science Park, attracting over 1,100 participants from 18 economies. Throughout the entire event, over 70 speakers shared insights, and more than 270 investment matching sessions and nearly 300 co-development use case matching sessions were successfully facilitated. Furthermore, HKSTP announced the first batch of investees under the Co-Acceleration Fund on day one, comprising four high-potential tech enterprises: e-SENSOR, FluviusH2, Akerf Robotics, and FST Space.
At the closing ceremony of the Core Conference in Hong Kong, Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP shared: “This tri-party approach accelerates company growth, shapes partnerships earlier, and clarifies paths to market. Hong Kong is uniquely positioned to connect people, ideas, and business opportunity, combining strong research, international capital, and regional access to help companies and investors find the right matches. Through a four-day deep-dive tour in Dongguan and Hangzhou, the conference also offers a closer look at the region’s innovation clusters and collaboration opportunities.”
Following the conclusion of the events in Hong Kong, representatives of startups, investors, and industry partners embarked on an immersive integration and matching tour to Dongguan and Hangzhou. Among the participating startups, 70% originated from Hong Kong and overseas, while 30% came from the Chinese Mainland. In Dongguan, the delegation visited the Songshan Lake Science and Technology Agglomeration Zone, Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences Dongguan Institute of Materials Science and Technology, and the National Artificial Intelligence Application Pilot Base, while participating in breakout conferences and roundtable discussions. In addition, 20 startups pitched their solutions during a roadshow session to connect with local industrial application scenarios. 15 I&T enterprises signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Artificial Intelligence Application Pilot Base, establishing cooperation in AI application scenarios and exploring pilot validation and commercialisation opportunities, which aligned startups’ technologies in software and hardware with real industrial demands in the Chinese Mainland.
The delegation subsequently travelled to Hangzhou, visiting the CNCICO Research Institute, Qihanggang Baishaquan Financial Innovation Centre, Xiaoshan Venture Capital Demonstration Zone, and the National Robot Testing and Evaluation Centre. Representatives from organisations such as Zhejiang Communications Investment Group, Hangzhou Industrial Investment Group, Hangzhou Investment Promotion Bureau, Xihu District Enterprise Development Service Centre, and Hangzhou Scenario Innovation Centre Co., Ltd. introduced the local I&T ecosystems and application scenarios. Local partners also invited over 90 investors and enterprise representatives to meet with the delegation, facilitating more than 80 scenario co-creation meetings, with several partners expressing interest in further business discussions with HKSTP startups.
