HKSTP Leads a Delegation of Tech Companies to Join Financial Secretary’s Visit to Dalian
(Hong Kong, 26 June 2026) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) led a delegation of five tech companies to Dalian, as part of a visit by Financial Secretary Paul Chan to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2026 (Summer Davos). The delegation joined global leaders and experts to explore how new technologies can create resilient, inclusive economic growth.
During the visit, Financial Secretary Paul Chan led representatives of tech companies from the HKSTP to visit the Dalian High-Tech Industrial Zone and held a roundtable meeting with representatives of I&T enterprises from both places. Mr Chan pointed out that Dalian and Hong Kong are highly aligned and mutually complementary in their I&T development paths. Hong Kong is not only a "super connector" and "super value-adder" but can also act as an "adapter" for Mainland enterprises entering the international market. He hoped that financial institutions, innovation and technology parks, capital, and enterprises in Hong Kong and Dalian will strengthen co-operation and establish exchange mechanisms to jointly seize the significant opportunities brought by the new round of innovation and technology development.
In addition, HKSTP participated in a promotion conference, organised by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) in Dalian, that focused on helping Mainland enterprises go global. The conference focused on how to leverage Hong Kong's financial, trade, and innovation and technology centres, as well as its unique advantages of being highly internationalised, to help Liaoning enterprises go global and expand their presence worldwide. The event attracted over 180 leaders and enterprise representatives from the local political and business sectors, innovation and technology sector, and various institutions.
