(只提供英文內容)Start-ups from Hong Kong Science Park demonstrate innovative solutions at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2017

(San Francisco, 15 September 2017) - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (“HKSTP”) is proud to showcase a range of pragmatic disruptive technologies from Hong Kong start-ups at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2017.

From supporting key business functions in FinTech, logistics, restaurant operations and digital advertising to enhancing quality of living through air purification, AR-VR entertainment, DNA test for pet cats and quick get-around on subways, the technologies on show reflect that Hong Kong start-ups are translating novel ideas into marketable solutions. Their success is also a testimony to the effective incubation supports of technology start-ups nurtured by HKSTP, which strives to make Hong Kong Science Park a regional hub for innovation and technology.

“HKSTP is very excited to be leading a delegation of eight Hong Kong Science Park start-ups to TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2017. Their solutions are results of their keen perception of market gaps that require disruptive technological solutions, and they have the talent and resources to bring their game-changing ideas to reality, leveraging the comprehensive range of hardware and business supports from HKSTP at Hong Kong Science Park,” said Albert Wong, Chief Executive Officer of HKSTP.

“Our start-ups look forward to meeting fellow disruptive innovators during TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2017 as well as potential business partners and investors in the United States. We also hope to inspire innovators from the United States to explore the opportunities offered by the innovation and technology ecosystem of Hong Kong. They are welcomed to take advantage of Hong Kong’s geographical and socio-economic attributes and establish their Asia foothold in Hong Kong to further their R&D works and access the promising China market across the border,” he added.

The eight Hong Kong start-ups taking part in TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2017 will show off their flagship technology during the show.

Amvet Biosciences will be releasing a cat DNA test product HealthyCatDNA Test in Q1 2018 for home-testing of cat DNAs to screen for more than 40 genetic disease risk and heritable conditions. It gives a detailed picture of a cat’s health that helps formulate proactive medical care strategies.

Appcider Limited applies its ShipAny logistics platform to connect e-commerce with crowd-shipping, enabling online merchants to access a range of courier services and offer customers optimal shipping choices.

ASA Innovation & Technology uses Ozone catalytic-oxidation technology (OCO) for air purifying. By decomposing contaminants through catalytical chemical reaction rather than sticking them to filters, the solution is effective in neutralising contaminants while prolonging filter lifespan. Its first product, AIRLITE, integrates the air-purifying device in lighting.

Eats365 Solutions provides an easy-to-use end-to-end solution to enhance dining experience and enable smart restaurant operations. From devising e-menus to taking orders or managing the backend, the solution brings efficiency for restaurants using digital devices so that they can provide a high level of service without adding manpower.

eMALI.IO is developing compliant blockchain and distributed ledger applications for FinTech, InsurTech and LegalTech industries. The company is specialising in identity management, trade and supply chain finance, insurance claim management, fraud detection and regulatory registries. It is developing a DLT Insurance Claim and Fraud Management System using R3 Corda.

Film Players makes Smart Film and Advanced Display Solution for retail, facility management and product design. Its Binary Display is able to show customised contents. It also makes normal glass programmable by attaching the Smart Film, and is exploring to turn windows of trains and buses into electronic signage and digital displays.

New Era Virtual Technology presents an AR-VR wireless headset, Okularion, at a fraction of the price of similar headsets in the market. The all-in-one headset integrates cameras, sensors and built-in input controls. Users can move around freely in the virtual world without bumping into obstacles in the real world. It is compatible with Google project Daydream, which means it can be used with more than 100,000 apps.

Pokeguide App, popular in Hong Kong and Taiwan for offering superb subway travel details to help users save travel time, has launched the San Francisco version, helping passengers find the fastest way around town via BART.
