Advanced Therapy Products (ATPs), including cell therapies, gene therapies, and tissue engineered products, provide potentially and highly innovative cures for life-threatening or incurable diseases such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases and neuro degenerative diseases. To facilitate the development of ATPs while safeguarding public health, HKSTP is in the process of establishing PIC/S-certified Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities for ATPs manufacturing through collaboration with local universities. We hope the GMP facilities will advance the clinical translation of home-grown ATP research from bench to bedside, as well as offer professional trainings required by local regulatory authority to groom more talents in this growing field.
