(HONG KONG – February 1, 2023) – Precision Robotics (Hong Kong) Limited (PRHK), a partner company of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and a leading surgical robotics company, today signed a high-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong (Gleneagles), its longstanding clinical partner and a multispecialty private hospital, at Park Lane, a Pullman Hotel in Hong Kong. The MOU will strengthen their collaborative partnership to work towards a common goal: improving patient care and nurturing technological advances in healthcare and fostering innovation in Hong Kong.

PRHK and Gleneagles have enjoyed a long-standing friendship, and this MOU strengthens and harmonizes the partnership. In this three-year consortium, each party will synergistically work on various significant activities facilitating the effective exchange of scientific knowledge gained from clinical validation studies of the latest surgical robots developed by PRHK, promoting development, and fostering novel technological innovations, transforming human-assisted surgery into automated precision solutions, which ultimately promises to improve patient quality of life.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Benny Lo, CEO of PRHK & Dr. Kenneth Tsang, CEO of Gleneagles, in the presence of Professor Dong  Sun, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Professor Guang-Zhong Yang, Founder, and Chairman of PRHK; Professor Andrew Young, Chairman of Hong Kong Automation Technology Council and Associate Director (Innovation) of Sino Group; and Dr. Tong Yow Ng, Director of Peritoneal Malignancy Treatment Centre at Gleneagles.

SIRIUS Endoscope System Received FDA Clearance

Dec 2022, PRHK’s flagship product, SIRIUS Endoscope System, received 510k clearance by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means it is proven to be safe and effective in its intended use and has attained world-class quality standards.

Dr. Benny Lo, CEO of PRHK, pointed out, “The FDA 510K clearance and the clinical data obtained through the collaboration with Gleneagles will enable PRHK to further promote its medical robotics technology in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region. PRHK's position as a leading protagonist in the development of innovative solutions for surgical robotics will also be strengthened.”
