Hong Kong, 25 February 2021 – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) will be hosting its flagship Hong Kong Science Park Virtual Career Expo 2021 (The Expo) from 18 to 24 March 2021. The Expo is the city’s largest job fair in innovation and technology (I&T) sector which is set to draw local and global talents to meet an international I&T hiring spree.

This year, the Expo offers around 1,500 jobs with more than 240 participating technology companies who gather to scout for talent. Aside from research and technology related roles, companies are also seeking candidates to bolster their teams with roles in marketing, business development and more. Hot sectors include companies in AI & Robotics, biomedical technology, fintech and data & smart city technologies.

During the Expo, individuals will also learn more about the importance of future fluent personalities in the modern workplace and how to get involved in the sector’s rapid growth.

“HKSTP is committed to building the best possible talent, science and technology ecosystem to reinforce Hong Kong’s status as a world-class I&T hub, and with last year’s 13 percent boost in the number of companies at the Science Park, this is proof to Hong Kong’s resilience and growth opportunity.”

Hong Kong Science Park Career Expo is a perfect platform for technology companies to recruit right talent and youngsters to join I&T ecosystem and make an positive impact to the society. Participating companies will use virtual exhibition booths to share career-related information, and hold on-demand live chats, webcasts, and presentations to converse with potential hires. Job applicants can submit their resumes online and conduct instant interviews in a seamless virtual environment.

This year’s Expo invited heavy-weight and renowned I&T leaders from Hong Kong, including Professor Dennis Lo, Director of Li Kang Shing Institute of Health, and often referred as the “father of non-invasive prenatal testing”, Professor Wise Young, Chairman of Mononuclear Therapeutics Limited, Jimmy Tao, CEO of Vitargent (International) Biotechnology Limited,Annabel Huo, Executive Director and Senior VP at Comba Telecom and Jonathan Cheung, Co-founder of Inovo Robotics.

Undeterred by COVID-19, last year’s virtual Expo saw over 170 companies offering over 1,100 vacancies and 60,000 job seekers from 103 markets.

The pandemic has created a perfect storm for young talent seeking to pursue a successful career in I&T, while science and technology companies have been ramping up their investment to develop new solutions to control the pandemic and help societies return to a sense of normality.
