(Hong Kong, 8 April 2022) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is pleased to announce that a number of Science Park companies have scooped a total of 78 awards at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva this year, including 22 gold medals, 48 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. This triumph on the international stage reflects the growing strength of HKSTP’s world class I&T ecosystem which has continuously nurtured a wide range of home-grown ground-breaking innovations.

HKSTP’s park companies have long been a major force in the world-renowned annual event, winning the Grand Prix award on two past occasions. This year, the entire Science Park I&T community has achieved outstanding results. The extended network comprises of research institutes including the InnoHK research laboratories led by various universities, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI), The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), as well as The Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM), all of which have contributed to the overall success of the city’s innovation ecosystem.

The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is widely regarded as the world’s most prestigious award devoted exclusively to inventions. Coming into its 48th edition, this year’s event was held virtually between 16th and 20th March, and has attracted nearly 800 inventions from 25 countries and region.
