(Hong Kong, 27 July 2023) – Continuing a series of “Happy Hong Kong” activities by the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) proudly presents the "Happy Hong Kong" Bazaar @ Science Park, taking place from August 4 to 13, 2023. The bazaar will transform Science Park into one of the largest I&T showcases and immersive experiences. Hong Kong citizens can experience over 180 “Innofacturing” products and creative culinary delights while taking in a weekend event that combines technology, shopping, food and education to celebrate the highlight moments of Hong Kong I&T.

Technology and Living are inextricably linked. The "Happy Hong Kong" @ Science Park Bazaar blends cutting-edge technology in offering citizens a series of exhilarating events to enjoy the “Dinning FUN, Shopping FUN, Action FUN, and Daily FUN” experience. The 10-day carnival encompasses a wide range of activities, including I&T Bazaar, STEAM workshops and art fun-fests, as well as a series of music performances and interactive experiences with the incorporation of technology in igniting a summer wave of innovation and technology!

 

Shopping FUN: Experience Smart Living

HKSTP is collaborating with about 60 park companies to set up two shopping scenarios, allowing citizens to experience the convenient lifestyle in future smart city and shop more than 180 locally invented or innofactured products at the I&T Bazaar. It comprises of various categories, including green technology, health technology, foodtech and smart living solution.

To optimise citizens’ smart tap-and-go payment experiences, HKSTP has also launched Hong Kong’s first palm vein payment system “HKSTP Pay”. Starting from 24 July, citizens can download the HKSTP App to register as new users and register the HKSTP Pay at a designated space. Citizens who pay with HKSTP Pay can enjoy a 95% discount at the "Happy Hong Kong" @ Science Park Bazaar.

Dining FUN: Incorporate technology into the daily diet

Savor the exclusive Happy Hong Kong Meals, a blend of traditional and foodtech ingredients and flavours, crafted in collaboration with park restaurants. HKSTP partners with 10 park restaurants and food tech corporations in launching over 20 exclusive menus for "Happy Hong Kong", sparking your imagination around locally-made food tech and vegetarian dishes! Besides, members of the public can redeem a "Happy Hong Kong" @ Science Park Special Edition Calbee Potato Chips or Yakult with the original receipt upon purchasing designated delicacies. Gifts are available while stocks last.

Action FUN: STEAM workshops and Art fun-fests

Additionally, HKSTP will arrange a plethora of STEAM Workshops for both kids and adults to create their own innovative artworks. To cultivate the next generation of talent and innovators, HKSTP, together with park companies, will set up parent-child STEAM workshops, which deploy AI, 3D printing, Digital Art and other technology in stimulating students’ innovativeness and curiosity.

There are also a series of art workshops at the same venue, such as Upcycled Denim Fabric Notebook Workshop, Eco-friendly Resin Abstract Painted Tray Workshop, DIY Pet Toys Workshop, etc. Don’t miss out if you are a fan of handmade crafts!

Daily FUN: Collecting Daily Happiness

The 10-day 'Happy Hong Kong' Bazaar @ Science Park is packed with surprises and non-stop busking music and dance performances, even on weekend. There is an inflatable 'Golden Egg' Bouncer for kids to enjoy a “bouncy” good time at Science Park. In addition, there are also 3D trick art photo zones for citizens to take photos with.

Furthermore, laughter collection point “Smile Spot” will be set up to spread jubilance with the goal of collecting 100,000 smiles from the citizens! The horn-shaped device “LOL Booster” will collect citizens’ laughter and process it using AI sound engineering technology to create a ‘Happy Anthem’ for Hong Kong citizens exclusively.
