What is Incu-Bio?

Incu-Bio helps biomedical startups launch their R&D develop life-changing solutions. The four-year programme, managed by the Biomedical Technology Cluster, provides the business support, networking connections, financial aid and lab facilities you need to bring your ideas to fruition.

Here, you have the opportunity to create solutions that will make a difference to patients worldwide.

Workspace Support

Technology Support

  • Innovate with world-class equipment, software and lab facilities supported by our in-house team of professional scientists.
  • Connect with our biomedical industry partners to drive your R&D.

Business Support

  • Establish your network of mentors, strategic partners and investors through HKSTP’s matching events.
  • Get advice on crafting the perfect business plan, preparing for investment and finding funding.
  • Extend your reach through exhibitions, launch events, press releases, media interviews, business sharing and product demo sessions.
  • Access one-on-one business matching through our Technologies from Science Park platform.

Financial Aid

  • Access funding support up to HK$6 million, consisting of HK$4 million financial subsidy and upfront grant, HK$2 million funding to cover regulatory activities such as clinical trials.

Is Incu-Bio right for you?

This programme is designed for the next generation of changemakers in biomedical science. You should apply for Incu-Bio if you are:

  • A Hong Kong registered and incorporated company
  • Focused on diagnostic, therapeutic, medical device or other biomedical areas
  • Developing original and innovative technologies that have potential for commercialisation
  • Incorporated no more than 2 years ago (3 years if you participated in HKSTP’s STEP programme or are incorporated overseas)
  • Not already participating in any incubation programmes hosted by HKSTP, Cyberport or the Hong Kong Design Centre

HKSTP-KingMed Co-Incubation Scheme

Co-managed by HKSTP and GuangZhou KingMed Diagnostics Group Co., Ltd (KingMed), this scheme targets diagnostics and in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) startups in Hong Kong. On top of existing Incu-Bio programme’s benefits, incubatees can harness the diagnostics and IVD networks in China, use the GMP manufacturing facilities in Guangzhou and access the extensive database of Chinese population.

How do you apply for Incu-Bio?

  • Submit a business proposal outlining your innovation and technology, business model, team and four-year milestone plan.
  • Provide the required documents to support your application.
  • Undergo an eligibility check conducted by an assessment panel of independent experts.
